Solo Advisory Practice
I spent 25 years in professional services (Infosys, Wipro and Accenture) — managing complex engagements, working with CXOs at large organisations across India, the US, and the UK, building multi-million dollar client relationships from the ground up. By any external measure, a successful career. Good income. Meaningful savings. And still — like most professionals I know — no coherent financial plan connecting any of it. Not because I was careless. The industry gave me nothing honest to work with, and I kept assuming I would figure it out when I had more time. More time never arrived.
So I hired a fee-only financial planner. Went through the process. Got clarity. And realised — from the inside — both what good financial planning can do for a person, and how rarely it is actually delivered at the depth it deserves.
"I became financially free. Not by accident — by building a plan, following it through market cycles, and making decisions based on evidence rather than noise. I know it works because I lived it."
That experience — as a client, as an investor through multiple market cycles, as someone who built financial independence from a professional career — is what I bring to every client engagement. Not theory. Lived experience.
Financial planning in India is underserved — not for lack of practitioners, but for lack of professional standards applied consistently. I bring four things that are genuinely uncommon in this space.
01
I orchestrated multi-million dollar engagements for large global organisations. That work was built entirely on understanding client needs deeply, designing the right solution, and delivering outcomes — not on selling the next product. That orientation is exactly what financial planning requires and rarely gets.
02
CFP® certification from FPSB. Deep study of the research on factor investing, sequence of returns risk, and active versus passive management in Indian markets — not skimmed, absorbed. My own analytical tools interrogating fund performance data. I spent a year building the knowledge base and the processes before I took a single client. The foundation exists. It is not improvised.
03
I have not just studied market behaviour — I have lived it as an investor. I know what it feels like when markets fall 40% and every instinct says exit. I know what it takes to stay the course. That experience informs how I build plans and how I support clients when conditions get difficult.
04
I did not come from product distribution. I have no history of earning commissions, no legacy relationships with fund houses, no ingrained habits of recommending what pays rather than what works. I bring professional standards from outside the industry — and I intend to keep them.
This is the person behind the practice. For the methodology, the client-understanding tools, and the session-by-session process itself, see What I Bring.
These govern every recommendation I make. Not aspirations — operating principles.
